Owing to the organisation AFS Interkultura Srbija, as well as the help provided by both the local government and managers of a number of local companies, The School of Economics and Trade "Knjaz Miloš" managed to go on an international student exchange to an elite school "Ozel Marmara Koleji" in Istanbul, Turkey. The exchange programme took place from 29 November to 6 December 2022.
A group of eleven students and three teachers (Jasmina Vujičić, Dragana Brković and Jovana Srećković) spent seven days on the abovementioned exchange, during which period they had organised activities in the school itself (tours, presentations, sports activities and different kinds of workshops), as well as sightseeing tours of all the greater cultural and historical monuments of Istanbul. The visited places included: the Topkapi Palace with Gulhane Park, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Bazaar, the Galata Tower, Taksim Square, the Dolmabahce Palace, Miniaturk (models of all important landmarks in the entire Turkey), as well as the old city district of Balat. Marmara school and host families (our students were accommodated at their homes) had a well-prepared programme for their guests even during the weekend , all with the aim to help us get to know their culture, customs and traditions in a better way.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who made this international student exchange possible, and we would like to give our special thanks to our hosts in Turkey, whom with both students and teachers built lifelong friendships and bonds.
